Christmas is a National Holiday
Christmas has brought out the atheistic crowd. They want to put their antagonistic signs next to the manger scenes and other displays that various communities still allow in the public square. I marvel that they are allowed to do it. To me it is not a first amendment issue. It was on June 28, 1870 that the Federal Government made Christmas a National Holiday. It was officially acknowledged as a recognition of the birth of Christ. The U.S. Supreme Court described Christmas as "acknowledged in the Western World for 20 centuries, and in this country by the people, the Executive Branch, Congress and the courts for two centuries." My word to the Atheist is this - You are welcome in this country. It may be your only chance to hear of the Savior, but do not try to destroy who we are. The rights you demand are God given, the very expression of your life and being. Believe nothing if you so desire, but this America trusts in the God you deny. And we who believe will battle to keep our America.

God given rights
It has been a while since I have posted. Our travel schedule and other obligations have gotten in the way.
My burden for our beloved USA is inceasing daily. Among other concerns is the fact that we have forgotten who we are and from whence we came. The Declaration of Independence tells of the self evident truths that all men are created equal, that our Creator has given us the rights, among others, of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and that governments are to secure those rights.
The battle rages to deny the religious character of the nation. There are those who wish to take away our national motto, "In God We Trust', remove "Under God" from our pledge to the flag, take the crosses from our national cemeteries and so much more.
If these who are ignorant of who we are succeed, we will lose our America. Our rights are only inalienable, because they are God given. Belief in Him is the foundation of the nation.
I have a burning in my soul to take on this battle.

A superior way of life
The Bible tells us the way of salvation. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. For too many it seems that accepting that truth is the full extent of their Christian experience. Christianity however, is salvation by faith with enablement to live a superior way of life over the ways of the world. The Christian is to experience love, joy and peace. He is to live a self disciplined life. He is to be able to handle trial and pressure in the power and blessing of God. He is to be a responsible person faithfully fulfillling his obligations to the Lord and the people around him. He is not exempt from trouble and heartache, but his knowledge of and trust in the Lord makes the difference. In this country, which is rapidly plunging into more and more vile sin and running the risk of total cultural collapse; someone must be able to give hope to the hopeless. That someone is the Christian, but the world finds little hope in the shallowness and worldliness of today's Christianity. Claim the superiority of true Christianity for yourself and your family. Claim it by reading, believing and obeying the Holy Scriptures.

Oprah Winfrey - Undermining the truth of Jesus Christ.
Oprah has begun a most serious attack on Our Lord Jesus Christ on her XM radio broadcast. It is serious because she has a large and gullible audience who will accept her views on almost any topic. On Oprah and Friends she has joined with the author of the book A Course in Miracles (Williamson), to destroy the biblical message about the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Everything precious of the life, death, resurrection and deity of our Lord will be called into question with the intent to change the beliefs of the listeners.
Believers - beware. This is New Age - This is demonic.
You are encouraged to visit http://www.crossroad.toarticles2/007/smith-oprah.htm.
Chrisrians must awaken to the incredible public attacks against Bible Christianity that are growing in number and intensity.

LEAD BASED PAINT AND TOXIC TOYS - SOMETHING MUST BE DONE-
This is a serious problem that needs immediate attention by parents. There is an answer of which we must all be aware. Read below.
Train children to not chew on toys. Let me repeat the answer for emphasis. Train children to not chew on toys.
If a child is teething get them a teething ring or something similar on which they can chew.
Yes it is possible to teach a child that they may chew on a teething ring, but not on anything else. The government cannot solve this problem. Parents can. You may not be able to solve it for everybody else in the world, but take responsibility for the training of your own children.

Leave it to Massachusetts. Some in their Legislature want to ban parents from spanking children while those same legislators approve of killing the unborn child. How can this be? The answer is rooted in what we believe about human life. If you get that wrong you will get every issue wrong that deals with human life, death, rights and even the discipline of a child.
Mankind is made in the image of God. That is what gives value to his life over all other forms of life. Unfortunately human life has been marred by sin. Our first parents were created by God , but rebelled against Him. Their rebellion brought sin into the world in general and into the human race specifically. Now every person is born with a human nature that is plagued by the dominating presence of sin. Each person needs to come to know the God that created him. That knowledge of God can only come through Jesus Christ. He, the Son of God, became man, to bridge the gap between Deity and humanity. He died on the cross of Calvary to pay man's sin debt to God.
How do these truths affect our view on the issues listed above.
Abortion is wrong, because individual human life, made in the image of God, begins at the moment of conception. God gives life and only God should determine when and how life should be taken.
Euthanasia is wrong, because God the giver of human life has declared that taking innocent human life is wrong, even if it appears to be an act of mercy.
Capital punishment is right, especially for murder. God ordained capital punishment in the Scriptures as punishment for those who ignore the unfathonable value of human life, since that life is made in the image of God. There should not be reckless disregard for any kind of life, because mankind was given stewardrdship of God's creation, but human life is put on a totally different level of respect than all other kinds of life.
Children need to be disciplined and spanking is appropriate, because our precious children have been born with a sinful nature. They must be trained to respect their parents and other authority, so they will be ready to hear and consider the message of God's Word regarding their own salvation and how to live among men.
Certain rights are entrusted to mankind by our Creator and abrogating them are not within the purview of human government. If rights come from men, they can be taken away by men. We should all be concerned because as regard for God diminishes, everything He has taught us about life, death, rights, and family will fall by the wayside in our beloved America.

I recently spoke at Millersville University at a Campus Bible Fellowship meeting. We discussed relationships. I asked the students if they thought bigamy should be accepted in our society. Then I asked about polygamy, group marriages, an adult marrying a child or a human marrying a dog. One asked about other cultures where polygamy is commonly practiced. The young lady wanted to know if we dared say such a cultural practice is wrong for the people of that culture. Our answer, of course, is that it wrong for everyone. The reason being that God has ordained certain relationships as appropriate and certain others as wrong. He has the right to do that and He has clearly spoken on the issue. Another student asked about homosexuality. We made it clear that God has ordained that physical intimacy is wrong outside of the marriage of one man to one woman. All other such relationships including bigamy, polygamy, homosexuality or whatever we might come up with next are outside of God's plan. Amazingly the next day, Nov. 13, 2007, it was reported online that a man in India married a dog. So much for what other cultures might accept. But why are these things wrong? If we take the Bible out of the picture for evaluating right and wrong any one of the perverions mentioned earlier might very well find acceptance. In fact our society is on its way to the worst of perversions, because we are on our way to total rejection of the Bible. Watch and see what happens in the years ahead of us.
